A glass blower

A Murano glass vase we bought for 1225 Euros, but then we saw a not quite similar vase for 225.

The euro was going for $1.23.

So we cancelled the buy and bought this one for $1,000 less.

With the money we saved we bought this mask.

We walked completely around the Grand Canal.  Paula Lazar is on the final bridge.

Mime in a box

Piazza San Marco.  The Doge’s palace is on the right.

Galileo, the inventor of the telescope would climb to the top of the Bell Tower and look for ships with his telescope and sell the information to the brokers.

The Campanile collapsed in 1906 and was rebuilt.

The Bridge of Sighs, between the Doge’s Palace and the prison, got it name because the windows exposed the last sunlight that prisoners would ever see.

A vegetable boat.

5/24/04

I saw these two German speaking women taking pictures of McDonalds in Venice, Italy a week after the Rome and Istanbul were bombed.

The women detected the snap and followed me into a store.  Then they left.

I couldn’t fax the picture to the CIA because they only take faxes between 9 and 5 EST on weekdays.
