The Western Wall, built be Herod, providing the retaining wall for the 2nd
Temple. Destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. Orthodox Jews wear black to
mourn the destruction of the Temple. The fresh, open air, the energy of the
area, the faith and enthusiasm of the worshippers was dramatic. This is a
men-only area. Women worship to the right.
