 On the right are Anazazi petrogliphs. On the left is a Navaho depiction of two horse riders chasing down a deer. The deer, when worn out, is smothered by putting corn meal in its nostrils. It is skinned to get a buckskin jacket with no blemishes. June 16, 2001 |
 Siege Rock, Canyon de Chelley, where the Navahos held out for 3 months when sieged by Kit Carson, the Ute Indians and the US Cavalry. Thousands of Navahos were massacred. The invaders burned the hogans, destroyed the fruit trees and burned the fields to starve out the Navahos. |
